Commandant's Original Website Greeting September, 2004

Marines you have just made one of the greatest moves as a Marine or FMF Corpsman to be made to improve yourself, Corps and Country. We seriously welcome your visit and want you to understand that we Marines in membership pledge the same loyalty and camaraderie that was instilled in us in “boot camp” and through our years of service to our Corps and Country. As we build our membership we too will build our commitment to you as veterans of the worlds greatest.

Please take the time to look over this site and find a location where you can continue to love the corps and your country, dig in and get something done. My challenge to each of the Department members is to bring one new member. Not an impossible task, with your help. As each of you join in, the membership will be improve for service to other Marines.

Someone once said, “You can take the boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the boy”. Well, I say, “You can take us out of the Marine Corps but you can’t take the Marine Corps out of us”.
