Robin Jackson Candidate for Department Jr. Vice Commandant

At the March meeting of the Department of California Marine Corps League I declared my interest in being nominated for the office of Junior Vice Commandant. My goals in being elected to this office are basically twofold: to increase membership in our Detachments throughout the state, and to increase the number of Detachments that participate in Department meetings and conventions.

I am willing to assist any Detachment that requests support in recruiting and retention by providing them with ideas and materials and by contacting inactive and past members. If invited, I will visit Northern California Detachment meetings and discuss the vision and goals of the Department of California to encourage their participation in Department affairs.

Among my qualifications for the office of Junior Vice Commandant are:

Past Jr. Vice, Sr. Vice, and Commandant (each two year terms), Santa Rosa Detachment 686;

Detachment Distinguished Service Award, 2007;

Department Sergeant At Arms for two years;

I am looking forward to a well attended convention in Reno and a promising year ahead for the Department of California.
